Diane Rae Jones’ Real Estate Biography
I started working in real estate long before I got my license.
I looked at homes all the time, touring open houses on Sundays, reading all of the newspaper ads for listed homes (it was a while ago) and looking at homes while out of town on vacation. I have always loved homes. I love knowing how they were conceived and how they get built. I love understanding the land that they are built on. I love the effect that a really great space can have on me and I believe deeply in the positive impact of homeownership on individuals and communities. When I needed a new career that would allow me to be more in control of my schedule, I chose residential real estate.
I have been living and working in the Seattle area since 1997 and in real estate since 2003. My former work as a technology project manager gives me additional depth as a contract manager and negotiator and my work in real estate has taken me all over the city. I know many neighborhoods as a result. Buyers in the Seattle Metro area love the fact that I can help them with multiple locations. Sellers benefit from my experience in preparing a home for sale, my polished presentations and marketing, my highly professional representation of them and their home and my negotiating skills. My office on Mercer Island allows me to move from Seattle to the Eastside with ease and provides unparalleled support, allowing me to focus on managing important client issues related to mortgages, title, escrow and negotiation.
I work closely with other brokers, trading information and best practice techniques. These relationships and my management experience help sales go smoothly and assist me to successfully work through any transaction difficulties that arise. Successful completions of several estate and divorce-related home and apartment sales have created an important niche in my business. An accomplished and entertaining public speaker and educator, I enjoy talking to groups on the topic of real estate.
Upgrading and updating knowledge and skills is very important in the ever-changing area of real estate. I believe there is no substitute for education and continuous improvement, so I invest time and money in my ability to benefit my clients. The designations I hold reflect this commitment.
I am a Certified Residential Specialist® (CRS®). The CRS is the highest designation awarded to sales associates in the residential sales field. The CRS recognizes professional accomplishments in experience, sales success and education.
The Accredited Buyer’s Representative® (ABR®) designation by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council is one of my credentials. The designation was earned after successfully completing comprehensive coursework in buyer representation and demonstrating professional expertise.
In the belief that seniors have unique needs, I have obtained the Seniors Real Estate Specialists®(SRES®) designation. It demonstrates the necessary knowledge and expertise to counsel clients age 50+ through major financial and lifestyle transitions involved in relocating, refinancing, or selling the family home.
Importantly, I was recently honored by Seattle Magazine’s 5-Star Customer Service award as a Top Real Estate Broker. This honor is sweeter because it is based solely on client reviews; brokers can’t pay for a spot or otherwise self-nominate to the list. The award is given to only the top 7% of agents in the Metro area.
All of these factors put me in the top 2% of all real estate brokers nationwide.
